MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019153 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated pea seeds extraction device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pea seeds extraction device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a fixed surface near an auxiliary utensil, a touch enabled screen 2 accessed by a user to input for extracting pea seeds from pea pods, an imaging unit 3 to detect exact location of the utensil, a telescopically operated gripper 4 to grip and insert each pods inside the body 1 between a primary and secondary roller 9, 10, an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 7 attached with a blade 8 to cut the pea pods, a motorized hinge installed with one link to move the rollers for passing pea pods between the rollers such that seeds are extracted out of the pods and collected within a chamber 11, a moisture sensor to detect moisture into the pea pods and a weight sensor to detect the weight of pea seeds collected within the chamber 11."
