MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012979 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated pavement laying device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pavement laying device, comprises of a body 1 arranged with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the body 1 to generate a three-dimensional (3D) map of the surrounding, a touch interactive display panel 3 for displaying the captured images that are accessed by a user for selecting an area on the surface on which pavement is to be laid along with selecting design of concrete bricks to be utilized for laying the pavement, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 4 to extend/retract for positioning a plate 5 in proximity to uneven portion of the surface, a pair of robotic arms 8 to grip the user-specified design of concrete brick, and an electronically controlled nozzle 10 to dispense a binding mixture over edges of the positioned bricks for laying the pavement."
