MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013481 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automated pattern engraving device for concrete surface.'

Inventor(s) include Tarun Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pattern engraving device for concrete surface, comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a pre-layered concrete ground surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 installed on the platform 1 for capturing surrounding images and displaying the images over a display panel 3 for enabling a user to select an area where engraving is to be done, multiple wheels 2 for maneuvering the platform 1 at the user-specified area, an inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 5 for providing support to multiple sheets 6 engraved with different patterns, a motorized actuator 7 arranged between bar 5 and sheets 6 for positioning an appropriate sheet above the user-specified portion and ultrasonic sensor installed on the bar 5 for detecting height of the sheets 6 from the surface for enabling the bar 5 to accordingly retract in order to engrave the pattern."
