MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004419 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'automated paddy sowing device for nursery.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated paddy sowing device for nursery, comprises of a frame 1 constructed with a pair of extendable plates 2 connected with each other via rod 3 positioned in a nursery, a touch enabled screen 4 accessed by a user to input commands regarding distance up-till the paddy seeds are to be sown, a camera 5 to detect soil pile in proximity, a telescopically operated gripper to position a conduit 9 attached with a pair of chambers 6 in soil pile, a motorized roller 10 to unwrap plastic sheet 18 which is laid on the surface, primary iris pores 14 and secondary iris pores connected with chambers 6 and container 15 to respectively dispense the soil on laid sheet, plurality of electronic nozzles connected with a vessel 17 to dispense water on the laid soil and seeds in order to allow germination of seeds."
