MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020692 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated paddy grains separation device for harvested crops.'

Inventor(s) include Shivani Sharma; Vikas Yadav; Manoj Kumar; and Jyoti Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated paddy grains separation device for harvested crops, comprising a frame 1 installed on a fixed surface, a display panel 2 arranged with frame 1 for enabling user input details, an imaging unit 6 installed on frame 1 for detecting crops lying in proximity to the frame 1, a pair of robotic arms 7 arranged on frame 1 for bundling the crops, a motorized roller 4 arranged on frame 1 integrated with horizontal strips 5 for positioning bundled crops towards the roller 4, multiple extendable pins 3 integrated on strips 5 to get extended/retracted as per dimensions of crop's paddy grains, a sorter conveyor 10 arranged underneath the roller 4 for accommodating the separated paddy grains, a pair of chambers 11 assembled with conveyor 10 for storing the paddy grains and crops debris and a weight sensor integrated with chambers 11 for monitoring quantity of paddy grains."
