MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004407 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'automated paddy grains extraction device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated paddy grains extraction device, comprising an inverted U-shaped frame positioned on ground surface and configured with a conveyer belt 2 over which user places bundles of paddy and accesses a touch enabled screen 3 input commands for extracting grains from bundle, further conveyor belt 2 translates bundle over a motorized disc 4 attached with an elongated rod 5, a camera 6 detects presence of bundle in contact with rod 5, an elongated member 7 configured with rod 5 by a motorized hinge 8 which tilts member 7 for gripping bundle between member 7 and rod 5, a motorized roller 9 installed with frame via two shafts 10 and attached with forty to fifty-shaped pins 11 which strike on panicles for extraction of paddy grains which are collected in a chamber 12, and a slider-crank arrangement 13 rotates disc 4 for tilting member 7 for dropping bundle."
