MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007036 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'automated packaging assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shashi Bala; Manmeet Kaur; Anshul Arora; Anjay Kumar Singh; Maahi Kukreja; Kumari Sneha; Dr. Tejinder Pal Singh Brar; Navneet Katoch; and Kanika Shama.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated packaging assistive device, comprising a body 1 positioned on a fixed surface crafted with a cavity 2, a suction unit 3 integrated on the cavity 2 affixing polybag, an imaging unit 4 installed on the body 1 determining polybag dimension, a motorized gripper 5 integrated on the body 1 gripping the mouth portion of the polybag, a motorized circular sliding unit 6 arranged in between the body 1 and gripper 5 translating the gripper 5, a disc 7 arranged on the body 1 by means of a link 8 integrated with a tape reel 9 for securing the tape by a robotic arm 10 arranged on the sliding unit 6 and a screen 11 assembled on the body 1 displaying weight of the packed polybag."
