MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003998 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'automated oil skimming device.'

Inventor(s) include Mandeep Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated oil skimming device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 configured with multiple rods that provides support to body 1 on a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 3 assembled on body 1 accessed by user to input details regarding an amount of oil that user desires to skim from waste water, an electric pump 4 connected with conduit 2 for translating waste water from container for a chamber 5 positioned inside a first chamber 6 assembled inside body 1, a motorized stirrer 8 assembled inside first chamber 6 for stirring waste water to enable floatation of oil above surface of water collected inside first chamber 6, a pair of motorized pulley 9 assembled inside first chamber 6 for providing rotational motion to a belt wrapped around pulley 9 that aids in revolution of water around belt."
