MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025609 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated oil filter changing device.'

Inventor(s) include Shikha Chaudhary; Sandeep Kumar; Ananya Singh; and Rajul Dutt.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated oil filter changing device, comprising a body 1 configured with a platform 3 positioned in proximity to an open bonnet of a four wheeler whose oil filter is to be removed, a touch interactive display panel 2 installed over the body 1 to enable a user to input commands, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 installed over the platform 3 to determines location of the oil filter, a robotic arm 5 configured with a motorized disc 6 installed over the platform 3 to position the disc 6 over the oil filter to rotate on axis in a pre-defined direction to open and detach the oil filter, a chamber 7 arranged over the platform 3 and stored with plurality of new oil filters and a robotic gripper 8 installed over the body 1 to grip the detached oil filter and providing support to the detached oil filter."
