MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025515 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated object holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Seema Rani; Diksha Verma; and Naina Jariyal.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated object holding device, comprising an elongated plate 1 positioned over space between center console and passenger, a cavity 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to determine dimensions of the seat belt unit, a motorized iris lid 4 to close gripping the seat belt unit, a laser sensor to monitor distance between plate 1, plurality of telescopic rods 5, suction unit 6 to affix plate, plurality of weight sensors to monitor presence of any object, an ultrasonic sensor to determine dimension of object, an inverted L-shaped telescopic gripper 7 to grip and position the object, plurality of motorized iris opening for withdrawing object from the plate 1, an air compressor to inflate the member, a proximity sensor to monitor presence of any obstacle in path, a speaker 9 to notify user regarding detected obstacle, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 to provide multidirectional movement."
