MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087321 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'automated nut breaking device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Malatesh Akkur.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated nut breaking device, comprising a housing 1 configured with multiple columns 2 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a chamber 3 1 for accommodating edible nuts within chamber 3, a display panel 4 to specify details regarding quantity of nuts user desires to peel and store, an iris lid 5 mapped on base portion of chamber 3 to dispense nuts up to user-specified quantity over a platform 6, a nut cracking arrangement 7 for cracking nuts positioned on platform 6 for cracking nuts from their outer shell, a feeding arrangement 8 configured with a pusher head 9 in order to allow the proper cracking of the nuts as required by user, a container 10 configured with a motorized conveyor 11 to receive cracked nuts, a vibration unit create vibrations on conveyor 11 to separate nuts from outer shell causing outer shells to fall within container 10."
