MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024686 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated newspaper stacking device.'

Inventor(s) include Anil Kumar Gaud; and Anushka Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated newspaper stacking device comprising an extendable platform 1 enabling a user to position a newspaper, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 2 determines dimension of the newspaper, a motorized drawer arrangement 3 provide extension/retraction to the platform 1, an OCR module determines name and date of the newspapers, a microphone 4 installed over the platform 1 enabling user to give input commands, a pair of telescopic rods 5 extends to position a curved plate 6 hinged with each of the rods 5 over the newspapers, a pair of telescopic bars 7 extends to position in proximity to the plate 6, an electromagnetic lock 8 locks the plate 6 with the bars 7, a perforated flap 9 installed over each side of the platform 1 encircle the newspapers, and a laser projector 10 projects laser light over the newspaper to be withdrawn."
