MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019640 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'automated needle threading device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jalees Ahmed.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated needle threading device, comprises of a housing 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a touch interactive display for providing input regarding color of a thread to be inserted in a particular size of needle, a multi-sectioned chamber 3 arranged within the housing 1 for storing different-sized needles, a robotic arm 4 arranged within the housing 1 to grip the particular sized needle from the chamber 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed within the housing 1 respectively to determine positioning of the gripped needle, a T-shaped member 7 suspended from ceiling of the housing 1, to grip the needle in an inverted manner, and a plate 8 arranged at base of the housing 1 and arranged with motorized rollers coiled with thread of varying color ranging from 4 to 6 in numbers roller to rotate a particular roller for uncoiling the thread."
