MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007025 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'automated needle threading device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Gagan Jindal; Dr. Manish Kumar; Anjali Goyal; Anand Dua; Dr. Sachin Mohal; and Piyush Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated needle threading device, comprising a body 1 arranged with a microphone 2 for enabling user's voice commands, a cylindrical member 3 arranged on the body 1 for insuring needle, an imaging unit 4 installed on the frame determining needle's thickness, a motorized iris lid 5 integrated on the member 3 to allow access of the pin 7, a motorized ball bearing 6 integrated in between the lid 5 and member 3 to rotate the lid 5, a horizontal pin 7 integrated within the body 1 by means of an extendable link 8 for inserting thread stored in a chamber 9 arranged within the body 1 integrated with plurality of motorized rollers 10 and a cutter 11 integrated on a robotic arm for cutting the thread."
