MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023444 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated nail extension removing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated nail extension removing device, comprises of a body 1 positioned on a fixed surface configured with a button 2 for initiating the body 1, a lid 3 configured on the body 1 via a motorized hinge joint to open and allow the user to position the user's hand/foot from which nail extensions is to be removed, an imaging unit 4 to detect dimensions of the user's nails, a chamber 5 configured with an electronically controlled nozzle 7 to dispense an appropriate amount of acetone on the user's nails, a telescopically operated rod 8 configured with multiple motorized hinges to attain determined curvature for acquiring secure grip on nail extension, a pressure sensor to determine the pressure applied by member on user's nail and the member to accordingly pluck the extension from user's nail."
