MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011078 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'automated mole trapping device for agricultural fields.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated mole trapping device for agricultural fields, comprising a cuboidal shaped body 1 configured with telescopic rods 2 that provides support to body 1 on ground surface of agricultural field, a motorized omnidirectional wheel 3 is attached with each of rods 2 for providing movement to body 1, a thermal based imaging unit 4 for capturing thermal images of field, a tactile sensor for detecting hardness of surface, an electronic nozzle 5 connected with a water reservoir 6 assembled on body 1 for dispensing water on surface, a LiDAR sensor assembled on body 1 for detecting diameter of hole created by mole and a pair of motorized hinge joints 7 arranged on body 1 for providing movement to a pair of C-shaped plates 8 attached with joints 7 in order to penetrate plates 8 into hole that aids in trapping of mole between plates 8."
