MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023599 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated metallic sheet bending device.'

Inventor(s) include Harshika Gupta; and Dr. Arminder Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic sheet bending device, comprises of an elongated cuboidal body 1 having proximal and distal end, a handle 2 fabricated over the proximal end to position the distal end in proximity to a metallic sheet that is to be bend, a touch interactive display panel 3 mounted over the body 1 to provide input regrading requirement of bending of the sheet, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 to determine location of the sheet; a laser projector 5 to project laser light over the sheet, a pair of blocks 6 for accommodating the sheet in between the blocks 6, a confocal sensor is mapped over the body 1 to monitor thickness of the sheet, a motorized sliding unit 7 to provide translation to the blocks 6, and a motorized hinge joint for gripping the sheet to orient the blocks 6 in manner to bend the sheet."
