MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025446 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated metallic rods assembling assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic rods assembling assistive device, comprising a platform 1 having a first and second section wherein platform 1 is developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 mapped on platform 1 that is accessed by user to provide input specifications regarding a user-desired bundles of multiple metallic rods, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 mapped on the platform 1 to evaluate a particular distance of rod that is to be cut to achieve a user-specified length of rods, a motorized cutter 4 mounted on platform 1 by means of a telescopically operated link 5 that is actuated by microcontroller for cutting rods for obtaining user-specified length of rods, a C-shaped clamp 10 positioned on platform 1 to acquire a grip of bundle from second section for positioning bundles in a chamber positioned on platform 1."
