MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025617 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated metallic pipe repairing device.'
Inventor(s) include Shikha Chaudhary; Sandeep Kumar; Shoyab Hussain; and Abhishek Dabas.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic pipe repairing device comprises of, a platform 1 developed to be arranged on a ground surface, multiple wheels is assembled underneath the platform 1 to move the platform 1 over the surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 mounted on the platform 1 to determine position of an installed metallic pipe, a scissor lift arrangement arranged on the platform 1 by means of a rectangular plate 3 that is integrated on the platform 1 to extend/retract for positioning the plate 3 in proximity to the pipe, a drilling unit stored in a multi-sectioned container that is accessed by the arm for positioning the drilling unit in proximity to the solidified metal, a heating torch stored in the container that is accessed by the arm for positioning the torch in proximity to the flattened metal."
