MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023480 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated metallic cap installation device for wire terminals.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic cap installation device for wire terminals comprises a frame 1 having a plate 2 arranged with a pair of motorized rollers 3 accessed by a user for inserting a wire, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determine positioning of the wire in between the rollers, a L-shaped conduit arranged on the plate 2, in proximity to the rollers through which the wire is passed, an ultrasonic sensor is integrated on the frame 1 monitoring length of the wire passed out of the conduit along with thickness of the wire, a first motorized gripper 6 for positioning a motorized cutter 7 integrated on the first gripper 6 over insulation, a pair of robotic arms 9 installed on the support 5 to grip on a metal cap, and a pair of hydraulic rods 10 applying a force on ends of the cap."
