MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010055 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated matchstick manufacturing system.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated matchstick manufacturing system, comprising a primary motorized conveyor 1 installed inside an enclosure 2 for enabling user to place multiple wooden logs, a control unit linked with push button 3 pressed by user for activating system that activates conveyor 1 to translate logs towards a cutting and scrapping section arranged inside enclosure 2, a pair of telescopic bars 6 horizontally arranged on platform 5 for holding logs between bars 6, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 for determining successful scraping of bark from logs, a pair of motorized clippers 9 for gripping sheets, an inverted L-shaped telescopic rod 12 attached with a punch 13 for extending to push punch 13 over sheet to cut multiple sticks, a secondary robotic gripper 16 attached on container 15 for withdrawing and placing sticks inside a perforated plate 17, and an electronic valve 21 for dispensing potassium chlorate paste over sticks."
