MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006614 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'automated matchbox manufacturing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Arvinder Kaur; Sukhdeep Kaur; Dapinty Saini; Dr. Amresh Kumar; and Haina.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated matchbox manufacturing device, comprising a housing 1 configured with multiple rods 2equipped with a suction cup 3for supporting the housing 1, a chamber 4 for storing a wooden column, a display 5 accessed by a user to input details regarding number of matchbox, a pair of telescopic clamps 6 to lift the column, multiple motorized rollers 7rotating to provide rotations to the column that is scrapped by a telescopically operated blade 8, a grid shaped blade 10 for cutting multiple wooden sticks, multiple sliding unit 9 for cutting wooden column. an electronic valve 12 for dispensing paste stored in compartment 11, an imaging unit 13for determining application of paste on sticks, multiple pneumatic pins 14 for gripping first end of the sticks and dipping second end into container 15 stored with inflammable paste and a robotic gripper 17 for withdrawing and placing the matchsticks into boxes."
