According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated maize harvesting device, comprising a housing 101 supported over a plurality of omnidirectional wheels 102 to move the housing 101, an imaging unit 103 to capture plant images and determine at least maturity status of individual maize cobs based on size, colour, texture, curvature and surface defects, a maize-picker unit to detach a mature maize cob from a plant, a cob storage unit 109 to temporarily store detached maize cobs, a conveyor belt 111 to transfer the maize cob from the cob storage unit 109 to downstream, a husk-removal chamber 112 to remove husk from the maize cob after receiving cob from the belt, a seed-removal chamber to detach maize seeds from the cob and transport removed seeds within a seed storage unit 120, and a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) module to detect presence of a child, animal, or unauthorized person."
