MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020766 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated laid pipe covering device.'
Inventor(s) include Nikita Jain.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated laid pipe covering device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 installed with multiple motorized wheels 2 for providing movement to the body 1 on the surface, an imaging unit 3 for capturing multiple images of surroundings to generates a 3D (three-dimensional) map of the surroundings as well as determines presence of pipes installed on the surface and in proximity of the body 1, a touch interactive display panel 4 for displaying the evaluated mapping and also enabling the user to select a portion of the surface where the pipes needs to be secured, a motorized roller 7 to rotate for unwinding the sheet 8 from the roller 7, an electric glue gun 10 for dispensing adhesive liquid on the pipe, and a robotic gripper 11 for gripping and positioning end of sheet 8 over the pipe in view of affixing the sheet 8 over the pipe."
