MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012905 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated ironing assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ironing assistive device comprises a frame 1 having a first 2 and second portion 3 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, first portion 2 is arranged with a tripod-like structure 12 integrated with multiple suction units 4 for adhering the frame 1 on the surface, touch interactive display panel 5 arranged on the frame 1 that is accessed by user for providing input regarding a cloth, AI-based imaging unit 6 installed on the frame 1 to determine location of the cloth in proximity of the frame 1, ultrasonic sensors detects the creases and wrinkles on clothes, telescopically operated L-shaped bar 7 position plate underneath the cloth, motorized clippers 9 for consistent and uniform stretching of the fabric, adjustable L-shaped bar 7 with integrated plate 8 provides stable surface for ironing. electronically controlled nozzle 10 sprinkles water over the cloth maintaining optimal moisture levels during ironing."
