MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025621 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated hooves maintenance device for animals.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated hooves maintenance device for animals comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on ground surface in proximity to an animal and installed with a U-shaped member, a microphone 13 to give input commands for cleaning hooves of the animal, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting dimensions of the animal's foot, a dust sensor installed within the member and synced with the imaging unit to detect presence and intensity of dirt/ debris accumulated on the animal's foot, an electronic nozzle 11 for dispensing the cleaning solution of hooves of the animal, a motorized disc 9 is installed with the member via a first robotic arm 8 and equipped with multiple bristles, a motorized slider crank arrangement 14 for providing linear reciprocatory movement to a blade 15 attached with the arrangement 14 along the hooves, and a tactile sensor to detect hardness of the hooves."
