MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025402 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated heating rod manufacturing device for water heaters.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated heating rod manufacturing device for water heaters, comprising a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a chamber 2, a touch interactive display screen 3 for enabling a user to give input commands for manufacturing heating rod, a telescopically operated gripper for accessing chamber 2 to pick one of rods and position rod vertically in a slot 5, a motorized iris lid 6 for gripping rod in a secured manner, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 for detecting filling of powder in rod, wherein upon filling of powder in rod, a robotic arm 9 installed within housing 1 equipped with a rectangular member 10 for taking a sealant mixture from a container 11, and a circular motorized disc 14 installed on platform via an L-shaped link 12 for inserting one end of rod in unit."
