MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010789 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'automated health guarding device for public vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ashima Kalra; Dr. Pooja Sahni; Kashish Thakur; Vikash Dwivedi; and Vikrant Chauhan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated health guarding device for public vehicles, comprises of a body 1 positioned at back portion of a set of a public vehicle, an imaging unit 2 to detect height of a passenger seated at front of seat's back portion, a pair of telescopically operated rods 3 to extend and position the body 1 in orientation with the user's face, a primary chamber 4 installed over a pair of motorized sliding units 5 to get positioned towards the user, a pair of robotic arms 6 to grip and open and zip-lock bag in front of user's face for allowing user to vomit in the bag, a touch interactive display panel 7 accessed by the user to give input regarding a medicine required by the user, a secondary chamber 9 to allow the user to access the specified medicine and an odor sensor to detect unpleasant odor."
