MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024019 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated hair styling assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated hair styling assistive device comprises of an oval-shaped frame 1 having first and second end accessed by a user to grip and position the frame 1 in proximity to hairs of the user, a microphone 2 to receive user's voice command regrading a hair style to be made with hairs, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 installed on first end for capturing images of hairs, multiple pneumatic pins 4 installed over inner periphery of frame 1 to extend in order to segregate frame 1 into multiple sections in accordance with evaluated portions, a pair of robotic grippers 5 to grab a particular amount of hairs corresponding to evaluated portion and position within one of section in a sequential manner, a speaker 6 installed over frame 1 to guide user to rotate frame 1 on axis in view of wrapping the positioned hairs over frame 1."
