MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012908 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated hair removal device for hands.'

Inventor(s) include Prashant Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated hair removal device for hands, comprises of a cuboidal hollow body 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a platform 2 to be placed with a user's hand, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for removing hair from the user's hand, a skin sensor for detecting skin type of the user's hand, multiple of motorized iris lids 4 configured with a set of chambers 5 for dispensing one of the type of hair wax pellets in a container 6 arranged underneath the chambers 5, a heating unit to melt the pellets for obtaining liquid wax, multiple of electronic valves 7 for dispensing the liquid wax on the user's hand, a motorized blade for cutting the unwrapped waxing strip, and a robotic arm 12 for removing pulling the strip in view of removing the hair from user's hand."
