MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003703 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'automated ground excavation device.'

Inventor(s) include Harbinder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ground excavation device, comprises of a body 1 that rests on the ground surface as the body 1 features an imaging unit 2 to capture multiple images around the body 1 as these images are displayed on a touch interactive panel 3, enabling users to select an area for excavation, the body 1 is equipped with motorized wheels 4 for easy movement over the surface, a sensing module 5 monitors surface moisture and hardness, ensuring appropriate pressure application, with an electronically controlled nozzle 6 dispenses highly pressurized water on the area boundaries for effective digging, an ultrasonic sensor measures digging depth, while a magnetic sensor checks for metallic substances below the surface and the nozzle 6 adjusts to prevent damage to any detected metallic substance during excavation."
