MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026021 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated groove engraving device for tires.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated groove engraving device for tires comprises of, a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a platform 2 arranged inside the body 1 for accommodating the inserted tire inside the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed inside the body 1 to determine positioning and dimensions of the accommodated tire, plurality of extendable blocks 4 arranged on the platform 2 for orienting the blocks 4 on peripheral portion of the accommodated tire for providing support to the tire in maintaining an upright position on the platform 2, a pair of motorized clamping units 5 integrated on lateral sides of the platform 2 for gripping central portion of the tire, a touch interactive display panel 6 arranged on the body 1 for selecting a user-desired pattern of groove to be engraved on the tire."
