MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022827 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'automated groove casting device for metal barrels.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated groove casting device for metal barrels, comprises of a frame 1 having a platform 2 positioned on a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit arranged on the frame 1 to determine positioning of a metal barrel in proximity to the frame 1, a pair of robotic arms 3 arranged on the frame 1 to acquire a grip on the barrel, a pair of horizontal bars installed on each of the supports for inserting a metal barrel over the bars in a manner that upper set of bars are aligned over surface of the barrel, a motorized roller 4 embedded at ends of the bars and carved with threads to rotate which in turn enforces threaded pattern of the rollers on the barrel in a parallel alignment leading to fabrication of bulged grooves on the barrel from outer surface of the barrel."
