MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026057 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated grain roasting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated grain roasting device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface via plurality of suction cups 2, a metallic semi-spherical member 3 via a curved motorized sliding unit 4 provide to and fro motion to member 3, a multi-sectioned chamber 5 stored with grains and salt, a display panel 6 to enable a user to provide amount of grains that is roasted, an electronic valve 7 to dispense grains and pre-defined amount of amount of salt, an L-shaped telescopic rod 8 to extend and position a bar 9 over member 3, a motorized gear 10 to rotate on axis to provide rotation to flap for stirring dispensed salt and grains, plurality of heating elements 12 to heat salt and grains, a robotic arm 13 to extract roasted grain via a curved plate 14 for removing salt and grains thus transferring roasted grains to container 16."
