MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007031 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'automated gear shifting system for four-wheeler vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Singh Deorda; and Ravinder Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated gear shifting system for four-wheeler vehicles, comprising a hollow rectangular frame 1 positioned around a gear box, a display panel linked with ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of vehicle for enabling driver to input gear-mode, a telescopic rod 3 extends and positions a C-shaped clamping unit 4 over gear stick for gripping stick and accordingly ECU determines speed of vehicle, a speaker unit 5 informs driver for pressing a clutch pad, a sliding arrangement 6 configured in between rod 3 and frame 1 for providing movement to clamping unit 4 to shift gears of, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 mounted on frame 1 to determine ignition state of vehicle, a robotic gripper 8 pulls hand break of vehicle, and a holographic projector 9 mounted on frame 1 for guiding driver for shifting gears in an appropriate manner, if driver selects manual mode."
