MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019157 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated garlic peeling device.'

Inventor(s) include Kul Bhushan Anand.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated garlic peeling device comprises of a cuboidal hollow body installed on a fixed surface and installed with a platform 2, a touch enabled screen 3 for enabling a user to give input commands, a rack and pinion gear arrangement 4 for lifting and positioning platform 2 out from body, an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 8 for covering bulb on platform 2 via a semi- circular unit 7, a cylindrical hollow flexible member 10 for accommodating cloves, an imaging unit 11 for detecting transfer of cloves in member, a pair of telescopically operated links 12 for positioning a motorized roller 13 that peels the cloves, a suction unit 14 for withdrawing peel of cloves and collecting peels in a chamber, a motorized universal joint 16 for transferring peeled garlic cloves in a vessel 15 and a computing unit for notifying user to collect peeled cloves from vessel 15."
