MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024893 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated garlic crushing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated garlic crushing device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface and developed to accommodate peeled garlic cloves, a touch enabled screen 2 is installed on the platform 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for crushing the cloves, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting exact location of the cloves on the platform 1, plurality of flaps 4 installed on the platform 1 via plurality of motorized sliders 5 manner to align the cloves underneath a meshed curved-shaped plate 6 installed on the platform 1 via an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 7, a proximity sensor for detecting presence of the cloves underneath the cloves, an RTC (Real-Time Clock) for keeping an accurate track on real-time and a speaker mounted on the platform 1 for notifying the user to collect the crushed garlic from the platform 1."
