MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020776 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated garden maintenance device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated garden maintenance device, comprises a platform 1 installed with a plate 2, a touch enabled screen 3 for user input for maintenance of said garden, a camera 4 for capturing images of surroundings, plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 5 for maneuvering the platform 1, scissor lift arrangement 6 configured for lifting the plate 2, a motorized disc 7 via a L-shaped telescopically operated rod 8 for scrubbing leaves of plants via bristles 9, a robotic arm 10 positions a motorized cutting unit 11, motorized ball and socket joint 12 for providing angular movement to the cutting unit 11, a laser sensor to detect presence of uneven surface, a curved-shaped extendable flap 13 configured with the platform 1 for levelling the surface, a thermal imaging unit 14 for detecting infection of the plant, and an electronic nozzle 15 for dispensing an insecticide/pesticide solution."
