MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011921 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'automated garbage compressing device for use in garbage bins.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shakti Prakash Jena.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated garbage compressing device for use in garbage bins, comprises of an inverted U-shaped body 101 developed to be installed on mouth portion of a garbage bin, plurality of suctions units for affixing the body 101 on bin, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 102 to detect dimensions of garbage bin, a primary drawer arrangement modulating shape of body 101 in view of accommodating body 101 properly over bin, a hydraulically operated bar 103 configured on body 101 to extend in upward direction in view of positioning a horizontal plate 104 over mouth portion of bin, a motorized semi-circular slider 105 configured in between the body 101 and bar 103 for providing angular movement to said bar 103, a hydraulic plunger 106 for providing thumping movement to plate 104 in view of compressing the garbage, a secondary motorized drawer arrangement facilitating smooth insertion of the plate 104 inside bin."
