MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026103 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated garbage compressing device for garbage bins.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tejinder Pal Singh Brar; Dr. Chamkaur Singh; Sourabh Gorssi; and Vikas Gulia.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated garbage compressing device for garbage bins, comprises of an extendable rectangular frame 1 to be accommodated around mouth portion of garbage bin, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing and processing multiple images of surroundings, an extendable plate 4 to extend in view of compressing the garbage in the bin, L-shaped telescopically operated rod 5 for extending/ retracting frame 1, plurality of iris pores 6 for allowing waste water from the garbage to collect over the plate 4, a suction unit 7 for generating a vacuum pressure in view of withdrawing the waste water, a chamber for collecting waste water, an electronic nozzle 9 attached with a container 10 for dispensing fragrance liquid."
