MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020698 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated fuel tank maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Varun Bansal; Mamta Bansal; Shikha Chaudhary; and Rajiv Kumar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fuel tank maintenance device, comprising a housing 1 installed with a circular platform 2 for enabling user to place fuel tank, a touch enabled screen 3 for enabling a user to input commands for carrying out maintenance of fuel tank, a camera 4 mounted within housing 1 for detecting shape and dimensions of fuel tank, multiple blocks 5 via a set of motorized sliders 6 to translate blocks 5 for gripping fuel tank, a robotic arm 7 configured with gas metal arc welding unit 8 for welding detected cracks for preventing leakage of fuel from tank, multiple electronic nozzles 10 configured on platform 2 and connected with chamber 11 stored with cleaning solution, a telescopically operated rod 12 configured with brush 13 for positioning brush 13 in contact with tank and a speaker mounted on housing 1 for notifying user to collect fuel tank from housing 1."
