MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020725 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated fruits plucking device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajeev R Mishra; Dr. Vikesh Kashyap; Kaushik; and Muskan Gautam.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fruits plucking device, comprising a cuboidal housing 1 positioned on a ground surface near tree, and configured with a pair of curved-shaped plates 2, a computing unit accessed by the user to give input commands for collecting ripened fruits, a laser sensor detects dimensions of bark of tree, a pair of motorized dual-axis hinges 3 tilt plates 2 towards each other for gripping bark between plates 2, a C-shaped expandable motorized clamp 4 is positioned in contact with bark by an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 5 for gripping and shaking bark for plucking and collecting fruit on plates 2, a conveyor 6 translates fruits on plates 2 for translating fruits towards a chamber 9, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 detects condition of fruit, and a telescopically operated pusher 8 discards rotten fruits in a container 11 positioned in housing 1."
