MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013529 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automated fruit covering device.'
Inventor(s) include Azhar Hussain Mozumder.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fruit covering device, comprising a platform 1 attached with four motorized wheel 3 for providing movement to platform 1 on ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determines presence and positioning of fruits, a telescopic bar 5 assembled on platform 1 which extends to position a hollow cylindrical-shaped member 6 near fruit to accommodate fruit inside member 6, a laser sensor detects thickness of fruit, an expandable pulley arrangement 7 integrated with member 6 to increase/decrease diameter of member 6 for properly accommodating fruit inside member 6, two motorized clipping unit 9 for gripping bags, a motorized sliding unit 10 provides movement to clipping units 9 for deploying bags over fruit, a motorized roller 11 unwinds a string which is gripped by two robotic gripper 12 assembled on a C-shaped unit 13 for winding string around bag's mouth and a motorized cutter 15 for cutting string."
