MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113817 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'automated footwear repairing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated footwear repairing device comprises of a platform 101 with multiple suction cups 102 adheres to a fixed surface, a touch interactive display panel 103 enables user input for repairing footwear manually positioned on a carved slot, an AI-based imaging unit 104 paired with a processor for detecting damaged portions, a motorized clamp 105 on an extendable L-shaped rod 106 grips the footwear for positioning on a foot-shaped flap 117 on an inverted L-shaped frame, a drawer arrangement adjusts size of flap 117, a detachable scrubbing pad 109 on a robotic link 110 to remove the color layer, a plate 118 on an extendable pole 111 positions an electronically controlled sprayer 113 for even color spraying, a two-axis motorized slider 112 to provide controlled movement to the sprayer 113, and a robotic gripper 114 with fabric 115 polishes the footwear by spreading the sprayed mixture uniformly."
