MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521105049 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Oct. 30, for 'automated footwear management system for enhancing customer experience in a retail environment.'
Inventor(s) include Prof. Urvi Dhamecha; Rakesh Sharma; Samar Sharma; and Gulshan Kumar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated footwear management system for enhancing customer experience in a retail environment, comprising a body 101 is mounted near a seating means 301 for accommodating a user's foot, a sensor array coupled with an inbuilt microcontroller for detecting foot moisture levels, foot type and dimensions, a touch interactive display panel 302 receiving user preferences regarding footwear type, a footwear storage rack 201 storing multiple boxes 202 to house footwear pairs, an LED (Light Emitting Diode) indicator 203 marking a selected footwear, a retrieving unit 204 retrieve box 202 of the user-selected footwear from designated box 202, at least four motorized wheels 205 arranged underneath the retrieving unit 204 for maneuvering the retrieved footwear over a ground surface, a disposable sock dispensing arrangement 304 sliding a sock upward onto the user's foot upon insertion, with an audible alert upon completion via an audio output module 307."
