MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521133818 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'automated footwear management device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated footwear management device, comprising a housing 101 sectioned into a plurality of compartments 102 stores different categories of footwear, a presence detection unit detects user presence, footwear placement and movement, a user identification unit identifies user through facial recognition and gait analysis, a plurality of motorized wheels 104 repositions the housing 101 for user alignment, a dual-segmented articulated manipulator 105 with a clamp 106 handles footwear using soft-grip pads, a footwear condition-analysis module evaluates material, moisture, wear and degradation, a cleaning and repairing unit performs cleaning, drying and minor refurbishment, a predictive personalization module predicts footwear needs using machine learning, a 3D (three-dimensional) holographic projection unit 117 displays virtual models of recommended footwear."
