MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018210 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated food plates dispensing and collection device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated food plates dispensing and collection device comprises a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and segregated into a first and second compartment, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for dispensing the plates in front of individuals sitting on the ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based camera 4 arranged for detecting exact location of the individuals, a laser sensor positioned in the first compartment for detecting thickness of the plates, a motorized slider 7 for translating the secondary plate 6 towards/away from the primary plate 2, a motorized hinge 11 for tilting the platform 10, a pair of robotic arms 13 for gripping and placing the plates in a vessel 14, an electronic nozzle for dispensing the cleaning solution in the vessel 14 for cleaning of the plates, and multiple motorized brushes for removing stains from the plates."
