MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105061 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'automated flywheel ring gear maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Kunal Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated flywheel ring gear maintenance device, comprising of a platform 101 configured with plurality of vertical rods 102 positioned over a ground surface, a circular plate 103 to receive a flywheel ring gear, plurality of clamping unit 114 coupled with the circular plate 103 for securely holding the flywheel ring gear in place, an imaging unit 104 for capturing and processing images of the ring gear, an inbuilt microcontroller analyses gear geometry and structural integrity, detect any wear or damage in the gear teeth, extract dimensional parameters including module, pitch circle diameter and compares the parameters against a standard specifications, a gas metal arc welding unit 105 for repairing damaged gear teeth, a motorized high-speed cutting unit 107 to perform precision trimming and profiling of the deposited weld material, and a motorized grinding unit 109 to smoothen and refine the gear teeth surfaces."
