MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005880 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'automated flood protection system.'

Inventor(s) include Deekhsha Verma; Shailendar Tiwari; Sonia Verma; and Aarju.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated flood protection system comprises of multiple bodies 1 installed around an area for protecting area from flood by acting as a barrier against flood water where each of body 1 comprises of a camera 2 that analyzes dimension of area required to be protected against flood, multiple motorized wheels 3 for positioning bodies 1 at periphery of area, multiple suction cups 4 to establish a grip in between body 1 and ground surface, a motorized roller 5 wrapped with a solid fabric 6 for unwrapping fabric 6 over body 1, multiple primary motorized hinges 7 to tilt body 1 as means of minimizing force exerted by water wave, a C-shape section 8 arranged with a secondary motorized hinge 9 that deploys section 8 over body 1 as means of eliminating chances of crossing of water droplets within area by increasing height of body 1."
