MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105072 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'automated flange resurfacing device.'

Inventor(s) include Mayuree Katara.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated flange resurfacing device, comprises of a L-shaped body 101 attached with a handle 102 for positioning the body 101 in proximity to a flange, a display panel 103 to provide commands for resurfacing flat surface of the flange, an imaging unit 106 to determine dimensions of flange based on which shaft 105 extend for anchoring multiple suction cups 104 on the inner periphery of the flange, a motorized brush 107 via an extendable L-shaped rod 108 to extend/retract for cleaning surface to remove dust, a cutting bit 109 via an extendable L-shaped link 110 to extend/retract for positioning the cutting bit 109 onto flat faced surface, a motorized bearing 111 for providing rotational movement to the link 110 and bit 109 for creating user-desired protrusions, a cooling conduit 112 to maintain safe thermal conditions, a grinding roller 113 via an extendable L-shaped link 114 for finishing flange's surface."
